Quick Start Guide for District or School Leaders

Welcome to Schoolzilla! We are excited to offer you access to all of your district’s data in one place. Here are a few tips for getting started.

Overview

Schoolzilla brings all of your data - attendance, assessments, behavior, grades - together in one place. Your data is displayed across 5 dashboards, each designed with a unique purpose in mind.

District and School Profiles

Mosaic Tiles on the District and School Profiles allow you to fully explore each metric.

Clicking on the icons at the bottom of each tile allows you to gain additional insight into each metric.

If you need to do a more in-depth analysis, select Explore to open Metric Zoom. Metric Zoom allows you to see up to 5 years of data and see historical data by different groups of students (e.g., primary ethnicity).

Our Schools

The Our Schools dashboard allows you to quickly compare progress across schools. You can sort by an individual metric or filter by demographic fields to ensure you are equitably serving all students.

Our Students

The Our Students dashboard offers insight into individual student performance. You can sort or filter by metrics and demographic fields. You can also create custom Groups and Views, making it easy to track students’ progress over time or quickly run routine reports.

Student Profile

Finally, the Student Profile provides in depth information about each individual student. The student’s photograph (when provided) and demographic data appear at the top left, with metrics and trend lines displaying below. This video provides a more in depth overview.

Users & Permissions

We provide four different user roles to ensure that everyone in your district has access to all of the data they need without providing access to data they do not need. Teachers receive permission to the students they serve, imported automatically from rosters in your Student Information System (SIS). All other user accounts are created by a Schoolzilla Administrator and are not automatically imported from the SIS. In addition to the permissions described below, Schoolzilla Administrators also have the ability to change district and school goals, determine which metrics are visible for which schools, and make other configurations to your site.
