² The District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont do not currently have linking studies; interim estimates of state proficiency are used for those states (calculated by using published state test results for the most recent test prior to spring 2015, applying the percent of students scoring in each proficiency category (by subject and grade) to our Percentile Ranks and then converting those values to Scaled Scores). When linking studies for those states have been completed, the interim estimates will be replaced with actual data.
