How Students Work in MathFacts in a Flash on a Computer or Tablet

Your school may also have Renaissance Home Connect available to your students.

Be sure to review this information:

These steps describe how students work in MathFacts in a Flash on a computer or tablet at school:

  1. Log in to the Renaissance software.
  2. On the Home page, select Math & Other Apps.
  3. On the next page, select Math Facts in a Flash.
  4. If you are enrolled in more than one MathFacts in a Flash class, you must choose a class to work in by selecting the appropriate class name.
  5. You can choose the language (English or Spanish) to work in. (The default is English.)

    Select Español (in the upper-right corner) to use the Spanish version of the program. For student help in Spanish, see ¿Cómo hacer las prácticas y presentar exámenes?.

    If you are using the Spanish version of the program, select English to switch from Spanish to English.

  6. Choose the type of work to do:
  7. Working At the Current Level

    When you choose this, you are trying to master a level.

    1. Select Work at your current level (or Trabajar en tu nivel actual in Spanish).
    2. Select either Practice or Test (or in Spanish, Práctica or Prueba). (If you need to take a test next, select Start Test or Comenzar la Prueba instead.)
    3. Take the practice or test. When you have finished, you will see a results screen with your results and goals. The results show you which problems you got wrong so you can review the correct answers.
    4. You will see one or more of these options, depending on the results of the practice or test:

      • To view a TOPS Report of your work, select TOPS (in the lower-right corner of the screen). Next, to print your TOPS Report, select Print.
      • To complete practice problems for the current level, select Practice (Práctica).
      • To complete a test for the current level, select Test (Prueba).
      • To try for a personal best time, select Challenge (Reto).
      • To begin work on mastering the next available level, select Next Level (Siguiente Nivel).
      • To continue working at the current level, select Try Again (De nuevo). Do this to improve your accuracy and/or time.
      • To work with a previously mastered level, select New Goal (Nueva Meta). Do this to improve your personal best time and to review information.
      • To stop working in MathFacts in a Flash RP, select Exit (Salir). You will see the page where you can select the type of work you want to do. In the upper-right corner, select Log Out (Salir).

    Working at a Previously Mastered Level

    To try for a personal best time (challenge) or to review skills on levels you have already mastered, Work at a previously mastered level (Trabajar en un nivel previamente perfeccionado). (This choice is not available if you have not mastered any levels yet.)

    1. Select the level you want to work on.
    2. Select Challenge (or Reto in Spanish).
    3. Take the test. When you have finished:
      • To view a TOPS Report of your work, select TOPS (in the lower-right corner of the screen). Next, to print your TOPS Report, select Print.
      • You will see a results screen with the your results and your goals. It also lists the problems you got wrong, allowing you to review the correct answers.
      • To continue working at the current level, select Try Again (Intentar de nuevo). Use this to improve accuracy and/or time.
      • To work with a different previously mastered level, select New Goal (Nueva Meta). Do this to improve your time or to review.
      • To stop working in MathFacts in a Flash RP, select Exit (Salir). You will see the page where you can select the type of work you want to do. In the upper-right corner, select Log Out (Salir).
