Editing the TOPS Report Preference

Who can do this with default capabilities?

District Administrator, School Administrator, Teacher

District staff and school staff can view the setting, but they cannot change it.

The TOPS Report Preference allows you to specify whether students will have the option to print a TOPS Report after each practice and test. You can also use the preference to specify whether a line for a parent signature is included on the report.

TOPS Reports are generated, but do not automatically print, when a practice or test is completed in MathFacts in a Flash. To view the TOPS Report, select TOPS. To print the TOPS Report, select Print.

Offline work in Renaissance Home Connect does not generate TOPS Reports.

Teachers can always print TOPS Reports from the Assignment Book.

What this preference affects

This preference affects students who are using MathFacts in a Flash at school. It does not affect students who are using Renaissance Home Connect.

Changing the preference settings

    1. On the Home page, select Other Math & Reading Apps.
    2. On the next page, select MathFacts in a Flash; then, select Preferences.
  1. If necessary, use the School and Class drop-down lists (above the preferences tables) to choose the school and class.
  2. Under Classroom Preferences, select TOPS Report.
  3. First, select one of the TOPS Report options for practices:
    • After each practice means that when students use the program in a web browser on a computer or tablet, they will have the TOPS button available so that they can see or print their TOPS Report.
    • After a practice session is not used. It was previously used only for students using NEO 2 or Renaissance Responders, which are no longer supported.
    • Disabled for practices means that students who are working on computers or tablets will not see the TOPS Report button after practices, and students using other devices will not have them printed automatically after practices.
  4. Next, choose an option for tests:
    • After each test means that when students use the program in a web browser on a computer or tablet, they will have the TOPS button available so that they can see or print their TOPS Report.
    • After a test session is not used. It was previously used only for students using NEO 2 or Renaissance Responders, which are no longer supported.
    • Disabled for tests means that students who are working on computers or tablets will not see the TOPS Report button after tests, and students using other devices will not have them printed automatically after tests.
  5. If you want to include a line for the parent/guardian signature on the TOPS Reports, check the Print Parent Signature box.
  6. To return to the default setting (students get a TOPS Report after each practice and test without the parent signature line), select Default.

  7. Select Save. (If you want to leave the page without saving your changes, select Cancel.)
