Editing the Monitor Password Preference

Who can do this with default capabilities?

District Administrator, School Administrator, Teacher

Note: District staff and school staff can view the setting for the monitor password, but they cannot change it.

The Monitor Password preference allows you to

  • require a monitor password be entered whenever a student stops a test or a mandatory practice
  • set the monitor password your class monitors must use

This preference affects students using MathFacts in a Flash at school. It does not affect students using Renaissance Home Connect.

To change the preference, follow these steps:

    1. On the Home page, select Other Math & Reading Apps.
    2. On the next page, select MathFacts in a Flash; then, select Preferences.
  1. If necessary, use the School and Class drop-down lists to choose the school and class.
  2. Under the Classroom Preferences, select Monitor Password.
  3. To allow students to stop tests and practices without a monitor password, remove the check from the Require Monitor Password box.
  4. To change the monitor password, enter a new password in the field. Note the monitor password and be sure to inform all class monitors.

    To return to the default settings, select Default.

  5. Select Save.
