Holding or Resetting a Level

Who can do this with default capabilities?

When you put a level on hold, the student's work on that level is not lost. If you assign the level to the student again, the student will be able to resume working where he or she left off. Put a level on hold if you want the student to review it later or if you want to allow the student to work on the next level before returning to this one (perhaps because the student is struggling with the current level).

When you reset a level, all of the student's work on that level is deleted and cannot be recovered. This is useful if a student has accidentally done work while logged in as another student.

To put levels on hold or reset them, follow these steps:

    1. On the Home page, select Other Math & Reading Apps.
    2. On the next page, select MathFacts in a Flash; then, select Assignment Book.
    3. The Assignment Book page opens. Use the drop-down lists to choose the desired school and class.

  1. To choose one or several students, check the box by each student for whom you want to hold or reset a level.
  2. To choose all of the students on the page, check the Student box in the column heading.

    If you choose multiple students, you can put different levels on hold or reset different levels for each student.

  3. On the left side of the page, under Activities, select Hold/Reset.
  4. The Hold/Reset page opens and lists the available levels. Levels may have symbols. Hover your mouse over a symbol to see what it means.
  5. Follow the steps below for the number of students you chose.

    If you chose one student:

    1. Check the boxes by the levels you want to put on hold or reset. Note: You cannot put a Mastered level on hold.
    2. To select all of the levels shown on the page, check the Select box in the column heading.

    3. Select Hold or Reset. (If you choose to reset, you'll be asked if you are sure; select OK to confirm that you want to reset the levels.) The program will automatically take you back to the Assignment Book page.

    If you chose more than one student:

    1. Check the boxes by the levels you want to put on hold for each student. Note: You cannot put a Mastered level on hold.
    2. To select the same level for all the students, check the Level Number box in the column heading.

      To see the title for a level, hover your mouse over the level number or scroll through the list of levels at the top of the page.

    3. Select Hold or Reset. (If you choose to reset, you'll be asked if you are sure; select OK to confirm that you want to reset the levels.) The program automatically takes you back to the Assignment Book page.

    To leave this page without putting levels on hold or resetting them, select Done.
