Capabilities
Capabilities give users the right to perform specific tasks in the software. Capabilities are sometimes known as rights,
access, and/or privileges.
Capabilities apply only to the products that appear on the Other Math & Reading Apps page in the software (such as English in a Flash). For products that appear on the Home page, see the user permissions in Manage Apps and Users.
Some capabilities affect all of the products that you will find on the Other Math & Reading Apps page. Other capabilities
are specific to certain products. English in a Flash does not
have any unique capabilities.
The information provided below refers to default
capabilities and should be regarded as general information, because your
administrator may have customized (changed) the capabilities assigned
to you.
How to Find Your Capabilities
Ask your administrator; he or she may have customized
(changed) the capabilities assigned to you.
How to Change Your Capabilities
There are two ways to change the capabilities that you have or are using:
- Your administrator can change the capabilities
assigned to your group.
- If you have more than one role in the software, or if you are assigned to more than one location, at the top of the Other Math & Reading Apps page, click your
name, then choose the Change Role option to choose a different role or school. The role that you choose can determine which features are available to you in products on the Other Math & Reading Apps page.
User Groups
Most often, the capabilities you have depend on which
of the seven
user groups you belong to.
Each user group has certain capabilities assigned to it by default, but these defaults can be changed. The user group that you belong to is determined by your assigned position in the software.
