Trophies

Trophies is a research-based, developmental reading/language arts program. The program features an organized, direct approach to teaching skills. Trophies emphasizes phonemic awareness; systematic, explicit phonics instruction; decoding skills; direct reading instruction; intervention strategies; and integrated language arts instruction.

The comprehensive assessment program found in Trophies is designed so teachers can easily determine and track mastery of standards and identify appropriate interventions, providing every student with the opportunity to succeed.

Five grades are listed (1-5). Each grade has these groups of books:

The Pupil Edition consists of a collection of classic and contemporary works, including realistic fiction, folktales, nonfiction, plays, and poems. In addition to the selections, there are pages that reinforce vocabulary, comprehension, and phonics. Activities for comparing texts, writing, and cross-curricular activities can also be found.
Selections are thematically tied to the main Pupil Edition collection but are written at an easier reading level. The Intervention Readers also provide an opportunity for comprehension, vocabulary and skill reinforcement for every selection in Trophies' Pupil Editions.
Also known as the Library Books Collection. This trade book collection of twelve titles contains authentic literature to meet a variety of instructional needs in the classroom.
Books that are written below grade level and relate the vocabulary and skills to the content of the Pupil Edition selections.
Books that are written on grade level and relate the vocabulary and skills to the content of the Pupil Edition selections.
Books that are written above grade level and relate the vocabulary and skills to the content of the Pupil Edition selections.
ELL = English Language Learner. Books that are designed to build concepts and vocabulary. The books relate concepts and vocabulary to the Pupil Edition selections.

Note: "Books for All" are also known as "Books for All Learners."
