Viewing the School Date and Time Restrictions Preferences

The School Date and Time Restrictions preferences include the following: Date Restrictions, Time Restrictions, Weekend Restrictions, and Monitor Override. School and district administrators can change the preference, but all users can view the settings as described below.

Who can do this with default user permissions?

District Level Administrators, District Staff, School Level Administrators, School Staff, Teachers

District-level administrators and district staff can view the preference for all schools on your site. School-level administrators, school staff, and teachers can view the preference for their schools.

  1. Select Accelerated Reader Independent Reading on the Home page and then choose Preferences from the menu.
  2. Select Date and Time Restrictions under the School Preferences on the Preferences page. (You may need to select the School Preferences heading to view the list of school preferences.)
  3. You will see the current settings for your schools. If the first box is checked for a school, students may only take quizzes between the dates shown.
  4. If the second box is checked for a school, students cannot take quizzes on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).

    If the third box is checked, students can only take quizzes between the times specified. In the example above, students would be allowed to take quizzes between 6:00 AM and 5:30 PM.

    If the last box is checked, teachers can override any of these restrictions by entering the monitor password. (The Monitor Password Override preference's setting for date and time restrictions will match this setting.)

  5. When you are done viewing the settings, select < Back to go back to the Preferences page.
