How Students Use Renaissance Home Connect with AM

If you have access to Renaissance Home Connect you will see Renaissance Home Connect on the Other Math & Reading Apps page. Students can use Renaissance Home Connect to view their progress.

If the Renaissance Home Connect preference for the class allows students to score practices and exercises through Renaissance Home Connect, students can complete those assignments using the Open Accelerated Math link. Students cannot complete free-response exercises this way; however, they can complete practices and assisted-response exercises.

  • Make sure the student knows the Renaissance Home Connect address.
  • Make sure the student knows his or her user name and password.
  • For paper assignments only, make sure the student has a printed copy of assignments to be completed. (The problems aren't shown in the software for paper assignments. For online assignments, the problems are shown.)

Students follow these steps to use Renaissance Home Connect:

  1. In a web browser, the student goes to the address provided by the teacher or school.
  2. This address is available in the Informational Letter, which is in the Reports listed under Renaissance Home Connect on the teacher or administrator's Other Math & Reading Apps page.

  3. The student enters his or her user name and password and clicks Log In.
  4. If the student wants to see the user interface in Spanish, the student clicks Español in the upper-right corner of the screen. Note that math glossary terms and definitions, objective names, and worked examples will remain in English.
  5. On the math tab in Renaissance Home Connect, on the Accelerated Math tab, the student can see his or her average percent correct on tests, the number of objectives mastered, and the results of his or her last test. The student can click the View All (or Ver todo) links to the right to see a list of his or her objectives ready to test or mastered objectives.
  6. If the student is a member of one or more groups, the overall progress, the last test information, the objectives ready to test, and the objectives mastered are for all of the student's work, regardless of whether it was for a group or the class as a whole. If you click View All (Ver todo) for the objectives ready to test or those mastered, you can choose to see information for a group or the class work.

  7. The student clicks Practices & Exercises (Prácticas y Ejercicios) under the Accelerated Math tab to see his or her average percent correct for these assignments and the results for the last practice or exercise.
  8. If the student is a member of one or more groups, the overall progress and last practice information is for all of the student's work, regardless of whether it was for a group or the class as a whole.

  9. The student can click Open Accelerated Math (or Abrir Accelerated Math) to open the same student program that he or she uses at school. The student can then review work or complete or score practices or exercises only, just as he or she would when logging in at school, if the Renaissance Home Connect preference for the class is set to allow this. Note that the student cannot complete or score tests or diagnostic tests when opening the program through Renaissance Home Connect. After finishing the work in Accelerated Math, the student can click Home Connect at the top of the page in the program to go back to Renaissance Home Connect.
  10. When the student has finished using Renaissance Home Connect, the student clicks Log Out (Salir) in the upper right corner of the page.

Teachers can send parents or guardians informational letters with the Renaissance Home Connect address and the student's login information so that parents can also log in to view the student's progress. The program administrator or teacher can print the letters by clicking Renaissance Home Connect, then Reports on the Other Math & Reading Apps page. Email invitations can also be sent to others within Renaissance Home Connect.
