How Students Use the Math Glossary in Renaissance Home Connect

Renaissance Home Connect includes a math glossary for students. Students follow these steps to use the math glossary in Renaissance Home Connect:

  1. In a web browser, the student goes to the address provided by the teacher or school. This address is available in the informational letter that teachers or administrators can print from their Home page. The student enters his or her user name and password and clicks Log In.

  2. If the student wants to see the user interface in Spanish, the student clicks Español in the upper-right corner of the screen. Note that the math terms and definitions in the glossary will remain in English.
  3. On the math tab in Renaissance Home Connect, on the Accelerated Math tab, the student clicks Math Glossary (or Glosario de matemíticas) on the right side of the page.
  4. To find a term, the student can either enter a term and click Go (Ir) or click a letter to see the terms available that start with that letter. Students can also use the Grade (Grado) drop-down list to select the grade range for which they'd like to view terms. If the student searches for a term, a brief definition appears after every term listed in the search results.
  5. The student clicks a term to see the full definition. To hear how the word is pronounced, the student can press the speaker icon to have the word read out loud. If there is a Play button, the student can click it to see an animation that helps explain the term.
  6. After viewing a definition, the student can either click Return to Search (Regresar a Búsqueda) to view the results of the previous search or click Done (Listo) to go back to the progress pages in Renaissance Home Connect.
